As a child I used to love to run around barefoot. I loved the way the grass and soil felt under my feet. However, my grandmother did not think it was wise and would constantly tell me to put on my shoes or to wear slippers in the house. So slowly that was conditioned into my mind and I stopped running around barefoot.
Years later when I was gardening I kicked off my shoes and instantly fell in love with the feel of the grass and soil under my feet. I would feel so much better walking barefoot. I started to do some research and uncovered that that feeling I was having was called Earthing or Grounding and it had so many positive benefits.
Here are some benefits of Earthing.
- Neutralizes Free Radicals. Free radicals are generated through inflammation, infection, cell damage, trauma, stress, and our toxic environments.
- Improves Sleep, Pain Management, and Stress.
- Improves Inflammation and Immunity.
- Supports our heart rate variability, which in turn, reduces our sympathetic overdrive and balances the ANS.
Around 30-40 minutes a day is enough to start healing process. Night-time is when the body does the major work of healing and regeneration, so that's the optimum time for earthing.
So get out and walk around your garden barefoot and for optimal benefits walk around under the moon.
